The ‘Best of the Best’ is to arrive in person. Hood River rests at the base of Mount Hood on the south side and the Columbia River on the north side. The beauty of this location is admired by all.
The event is divided into three segments: 1) Presentations, 2) Round Table Discussions translating the didatic to the practical, and 3) ‘In Hive’ experience.
The advantage of being at the Workshop ‘in person’ is rubbing elbows with the presenters. Of course sharing stories with your fellow beekeepers is surely a plus. BUT the opportunity to be guided in ‘In Hive’ inspections is a true delight and of course offers practical knowledge.
There are several hotels in town along with a few motels.
The Crag Rat Hut is five miles south of I-84.
Take Exit 64, OR-35 toward Government Camp / Mount Hood Highway. In four miles you will turn left on Van Hon Drive where two gas stations are on either side of Van Horn. Continue for 0.8 miles to turn right on Wells Drive. There is a fruit packing house and just past on your right will be Crag Rat Road. Stay left as your wind around to arrive in the parking lot area.
